Programme Description

The BCom Honours in Business Management programme is a 1 year full-time, 120 credits and NQF exit-level 8 qualification which includes compulsory and elective modules. It provides an important route for progression into further postgraduate studies, Masters and Doctoral for those who wish to continue with their studies at the University of Mpumalanga or elsewhere.

The curriculum in the BCom Honours in Business Management degree include aspects of managing business innovation and entrepreneurship which form part of the highly sought after skills in the Fourth Industrial revolution.Consequently, this qualification provides participants with a new set of tools, a mind-set and experience in finding, developing, and managing innovative alternatives for addressing strategic business and management problems.
 
BCom Honours in Business Management graduates are also grounded in research thus providing a strong foundation for success in higher degrees in Business Management at any institution, both in South Africa and abroad. The curriculum for this Business Management honours programme has been developed after extensive research, a needs analysis and benchmarking exercise with reputable Universities, including internal and external consultation with various stakeholders.
 

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the BCom Honours (Business Management) programme the applicant should have a:
  • a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with majors in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or related subjects with an average of 60%.
  • a minimum average of 60% in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or related subjects in the third year is required for admission.
