UMP PARTNERS WITH BUAN

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has forged a partnership with the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) to collaborate on Smart Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence, Industry Engagement, and Sustainability.



UMP HOSTS SAAPS CONFERENCE

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) played host to the 16th Biennial Conference of the South African Association of Political Studies (SAAPS) from 13 to 15 September 2023, centred around the theme: "Africa in Contemporary Global Politics."



PROF NIYIMBANIRA LEADS ENACTUS TEAM TO SUCCESS

Professor Ferdinand Niyimbanira stands as a driving force behind the accomplished University of Mpumalanga (UMP) ENACTUS team. His contributions have earned him esteemed accolades, including the 2014 National ENACTUS: SA Faculty Advisor of the Year Award.



UMP WINS ANOTHER NRF AWARD

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has once again been lauded for its outstanding contributions to the field of research. This marks the second consecutive year in which the University has been honoured with the National Research Foundation (NRF) CEO’s Special Recognition Award, presented during the 2023 NRF Awards.



LEADERSHIP IN HIGHER EDUCATION REQUIRES REIMAGINING

Professor Thoko Mayekiso, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), inaugurated the second day of the HERS-SA Academy for Women Leaders in Higher Education, held recently in Cape Town.



ADDRESSING SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) and the Enhlanzeni District Municipality hosted the 5th Annual Event for Creating Safe and Inclusive Spaces, with the theme: Addressing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education.



UMP STUDENTS COME OUT TOPS AT BUSINESS COMPETITIONS

Two UMP students, Cyprian Sandile Khoza and Penwell Jackey Silinda, emerged as winners at the BOOST UP and EDHE Northen Regionals Intervarsity Competitions, respectively. Both business competitions were held separately at UMP Mbombela Campus this month.



DR BHUDA WINS GOLDEN SHIELD HERITAGE AWARD

Culture and Heritage lecturer at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), Dr Monicca Thulisile Bhuda, was recently honoured with the 2023 Voice of Heritage Shield Award, at a ceremony attended by notable figures in the arts and heritage community.



UMP JOINS PRESTIGIOUS AAUN

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has been admitted as the newest member of the Australia-Africa Universities Network (AAUN) during the Annual AGM and Australia Group meeting held in Perth, Australia on 4-5 September 2023.



UMP STUDENTS EXCEL AT REGIONAL BUSINESS COMPETITION

Three students from the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) have emerged victorious in the recent Play Your Part Ignite Programme, held in Mbombela. The event was dedicated to nurturing and motivating young entrepreneurs.



COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION, SERVICE DELIVERY, AND LEADERSHIP IN MPUMALANGA MUNICIPALITIES LACKING

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) showcased its Institutional Research Theme centred on governance, ethics, and leadership by presenting their latest study, titled "Community Engagement, Service Delivery, and Leadership in Mpumalanga Municipalities," during the SAAPS 16th Biennial Conference, hosted at the Mbombela campus.



UMP CHOIR CONTINUES TO IMPRESS CROWDS

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) Choir took part in the Battle of Municipalities (BOM) Choral Music Competition in East London on the 8 and 9 September 2023.



UMP HOSTS 2023 ANNUAL BOOK EXHIBITION

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) Library Information Services hosted the annual Library Book Exhibition featuring new titles across various subject fields, aimed at bolstering and enriching the library collection.
