Another proud moment is seeing young students develop and rise to become stars in their own right. We need students who inspire us and keep us all striving towards excellence. One such student, Thabang Mashiloane, who is studying towards his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture, has been an exemplary during his time here at UMP. He has epitomised everything we stand for and strive towards.
I would like to make a special mention and welcome Mr Achieve Ubisi who was appointed as our Director: Stakeholder Liaison and Communications earlier this month. We look forward to having you on board.
Lastly, in the event that you might have missed my earlier announcement, please take not that the SRC and CRC elections will take place on Friday, 27 November 2020. Please support this important process of electing the student leadership, which is one of the crucial governance structures of the University.

We're reaching the time of the year where things are coming together as we gear to take our lives back under alert Level 1, as always: stay safe, wear your mask, adhere to social distancing, and don't forget to wash hands regularly and sanitize.

Vice-ChancellorOctober is Mental Health Awareness Month and what better time for us to come together, while keeping a safe social distance, as we choreographed and created our very own Jerusalema Dance Challenge. Our spirits were lifted and it was wonderful to see the UMP community come together and have fun as one after what can only be described as a very tough, trying and strenuous year. Thank you, the challenge was just what our community needed. I am sure we have made our Chancellor, President Cyril Ramaphosa, very proud!
