Appointed earlier this month, Ubisi, will be responsible for strategic management and leadership in relation to communication and stakeholder liaison of the university. He will also lead the implementation of a comprehensive institutional media engagement, institutional web and digital communication strategy.

He is the founding Communication and Marketing Specialist of the College of Education (CEDU) at the University of South Africa (UNISA). The College of Education is the largest Faculty of Education on the African Continent.

Prior to joining UMP, Ubisi was working as an Operations and Business Development Manager at the newly established UNISA Centre for Lifelong Learning. He was responsible for leading and managing a team of 18 professionals with a focus on stakeholder relations, communication, customer service and media engagement.

Ubisi has over 10 years’ experience in corporate communication, brand management, marketing and media engagement, and his credentials include a Masters Degree in Business Leadership (MBL).

He holds a professional designation as a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner through the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) and also served as the Chairperson of PRISA, Gauteng North Region.

He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Science, Professional Development Programme in Public Relations, and a Diploma in Business Journalism.

The University of Mpumalanga welcomes Mr Ubisi and wishes all the best as he settles into his new role.
