Continuing Education Services
Continuing Education Services (CES) plays a critical role in supporting the development of short learning programmes (SLPs) for the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The CES strives to deliver SLPs that are relevant, just-in-time, addressing specific topics in various sectors of the economy. Additionally, the division regularly engages with potential external stakeholders to seek collaboration opportunities. Our SLPs are embedded in our academic and engagement activities, contributing to two of the three primary roles of the University: Teaching, Learning, and Engagement. The credit-bearing or non-credit-bearing learning opportunities provide participants with a diverse range of backgrounds, including those who have not completed their education and those with higher education qualifications, as well as opportunities for professionals.
The CES execute its mandate by:
- Broadening access to higher education by addressing the educational needs of the public and/or private sector.
- Supporting skills development and the training needs of the external community through the provision and development of a variety of SLPs.
- The promotion of lifelong learning and personal development through adult education.
Other Services
Continuing Education Services can assist large companies, small to medium enterprises or organizations on the:
- Assessment of a business or organization’s training needs
- Draft a training or skills development programme
- Develop training materials
- Development of Short Learning Programmes according to the needs of the client, as well as the relevance of the environment they operate in.
Note: Programmes are offered on both Mbombela and Siyabuswa campuses or off-site at a venue convenient for the client. (Additional cost is applicable for off-site programmes).
