I would like to welcome you to the School of Computing and Mathematical Science. The school is a home to computing and mathematical qualifications and supports other schools in the institution through computing and mathematics related modules. Our qualifications are designed to address the trending needs of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. This is achieved through constant interaction and partnerships with industry partners.
In 2022 the school will be offering five programmes: Higher Certificate in Information Communication Technology in User Support, Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Applications Development, Advanced Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Applications Development, Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Applications Development. Our graduates have an opportunity to acquire diverse skills through the projects that they undertake that simulate the real world.
The School is actively involved in supporting the national initiative of human capacity development in digital integration skills through its Cyber Security CoLab, which also offers basic computer training.
In terms of research, we strive to be relevant by embracing research and engagement programmes that address current problems using latest technologies. This is achieved through the school’s research focus “Information and Communication Technology for Sustainable Development (ICT4SD) through diverse specialities, such as Internet of Things (IoT), data science, networking, cybersecurity, information technology for education and applied mathematics.
