A PARTNERSHIP TO EMPOWER STUDENTS AND COMMUNITIES

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ehlanzeni District Municipality (EDM) which will foresee that graduates and students get access to internships and work-integrated learning opportunities while promoting research and strengthening service delivery within the municipality.



UMP INAUGURATES THE 2022 STUDENT LEADERSHIP

The 2022 University of Mpumalanga (UMP) Student Representative Council (SRC) was recently inaugurated at a ceremony graced by UMP stakeholders, which included the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Thoko Mayekiso, university management, student affairs representatives, and staff members.



PRESERVING MOTHER-TONGUE LANGUAGES

As the world celebrated Mother-Tongue Day on February 21, the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) through the Faculty of Education: BEd programme, which offers IsiNdebele and Sepedi languages and the introduction of the Bachelor of Arts Honours in Siswati in 2021, has made great strides in supporting and advancing multilingualism and mother-tongue education.

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) has awarded the University of Mpumalanga’s (UMP) Tfokomala Hotel and Conference Centre a 4-star grading in the Formal Accommodation category.

Transport Officer at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) Mr David Tshabangu is the longest serving employee. His hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. He was recently recognized by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Thoko Mayekiso for his commitment and reliability.



FIRST-YEARS INSPIRED TO BE THEIR BEST

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) hosted a one-week orientation programme to give first-year students a glimpse into what they can expect from academic life at the university. Orientation offers new students a valuable opportunity to acquaint themselves with campus life.

University of Mpumalanga (UMP) through the Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CFERI) aims to create engaged students who have an entrepreneurial mindset. Information and Communications Technology student, Jessica Mathye, used the pandemic to start a business that is not only about beauty but also about creating employment opportunities.
