TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
1. Detailed description of goods and/or services
The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) operates in the Tertiary Education industry and has an online shop for University branded items.
 
2. Delivery policy
Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within five (05) working days and delivery to Mbombela and Siyabuswa Campuses confirmed by way of email with an order number. Showroom collection is permitted, however, a customer will be required to produce proof of payment and ID or Drivers licence when collecting items purchased.
 
3. Return and Refunds policy
The provision of goods by the UMP Online Shop is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, a refund will be made to the client in full within 30 days. Customers have 7 days from the date of dispatch to return or exchange an item.
Customers are responsible for the cost of return. The original shipping fee is non-refundable.
Kindly note that the University reserves the right to inspect any returned item prior to processing a refund or exchange. Returned items must be in their original package with labels and tags still attached.  
 
4. Cancellations
Cancellation of orders by the customer will attract a 5% administration fee.
 
5. Defective/ faulty items
If an item(s) is confirmed to be defective/ faulty, the replacement item will be delivered to the customer at no additional cost subjected to the stock being available and the return of the defect/faulty goods.
 
6. Customer Privacy policy
UMP shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). 7. Payment options accepted
Payments may be made via Visa, MasterCard, or by bank transfers into the UMP bank account.
 
8. Card acquiring and security
Card transactions will be acquired for UMP via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. DPO PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
 
9. Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by UMP separately from card details which are entered by the customer on DPO PayGate’s secure site. For more details on DPO PayGate, refer to www.paygate.co.za.
 
10. Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. The transaction currency is the South African Rand (ZAR).
 
11. Responsibility
UMP takes responsibility for all aspects relating to transactions for UMP Online Shop including the sale of goods, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
 
12. Country of domicile
UMP Online website is governed by the South African laws. UMP chooses South Africa (including the University’s physical address) as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notices, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.
 
13. References number
The system generated order number should be used by the customer as the reference number when making payment.
 
14. Variation
UMP may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
 
15. Company information
This website is managed by UMP based in South Africa trading as the University of Mpumalanga and with registration number (Statute number 40216).
