Hosted by the Department of Public Works, the Council for the Built Environment (CIDB), in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority, the awards form part of a national initiative to advance professionalisation, transformation, and excellence within South Africa’s built environment sector.
BERA recognises institutions and practitioners who contribute meaningfully to infrastructure development, skills advancement, and sustainable growth across disciplines such as engineering, architecture, and construction.
UMP’s recognition highlights the University’s continued investment in modern, state-of-the-art facilities and its ability to deliver infrastructure projects efficiently and within set timeframes.
“This achievement reflects a broader institutional commitment to creating an enabling environment that supports teaching, learning, research, and student success,” said UMP Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Thenjiwe Meyiwa.
The award further positions UMP as a key contributor to South Africa’s infrastructure landscape, demonstrating how strategic planning and effective project execution can drive both institutional growth and national development.
